About me

At the lathe in the robotics shop

I'm Anish. I like taking an idea past the point where it's just an idea — sketching it, modeling it, then cutting, drilling and wiring it until it exists.

Most of my favorite work has happened in shops and garages. In robotics I spend my time on mechanisms and on teaching newer members how to use Onshape, a lathe and a drill press. The Wood-Frame Car started as a model on my screen and ended as something we could drive down the street.

The other thing I've learned is that building is rarely solo. The car took five people. The robot takes a whole team. Cademy exists because I noticed how much faster people learn CAD when the lessons are tied to something they actually want to make.

Outside of engineering, I volunteer with the Interact Club, emcee at North Brunswick India Day, do Model UN, play double bass in orchestra and run cross-country and track. I've also done gene sequence research on duckweed through Rutgers' Waksman Student Scholars Program.
